Spotting... again
Late this morning (Tuesday), I noticed that I had some brown spots in my underwear and saw that I had red blood when I wiped. Since the uterine lining needs to be thick when we transfer our little embryo, I called Mid-Iowa to let them know and see what steps need to be taken.
The nurse that I spoke to said that she looked back in my chart and noticed that I had this same issue prior to our last embryo transfer, but it happened earlier in the med calendar than it did this time. The doctor prescribed a regimen of vaginal estrogen pills (twice daily) in addition to the estrogen patches I have been wearing. I have an ultrasound and bloodwork appointment (previously scheduled as part of my med calendar) on Thursday morning to check the uterine lining. At that point, if the lining is not thick enough, the upcoming transfer will be cancelled and we will start the six week med calendar over again with my next period.
We're hopeful that the estrogen pills will be enough to stop the spotting so that the lining is thick and we can proceed as planned with our transfer on July 2 (a week from Friday!).
