First Well-Baby Check

Today I took Elsie to the pediatrician for her first well-baby check.  We saw Dr. Kiley Ottervanger, who is Gavin's pediatrician as well.  The purpose of today's visit was to check her weight and for any signs of jaundice.  She got a great report!  Her birth weight was 6 lbs 15 oz, her weight when we left the hospital was 6 lbs 11 oz, and her weight today was 6 lbs 9 oz.  She has llost 5% of her birth weight, and up to 7% is normal.  Now that my milk is coming in, we expect her to start gaining weight.  And we will check her weight again at two weeks old (June 10).

Here are Elsie's stats:

Height: 19.5" (42nd percentile)

Weight: 6 lbs 9 oz (20th percentile)

BMI: 12.24 (14th percentile)

Head circumference: 13" (19th percentile)

On the way home from the doctor, she fell asleep in the car.  It was our first car ride since we left the hospital!  And our next scheduled ride will be her next appointment.
