Coming Home

At discharge, Colin's weight was down a little bit from his birthweight (as expected) and he was a bit jaundiced.  So we had a follow-up pediatrician appointment scheduled for Sunday morning at the Walnut Creek pediatric office.

We stopped for some lunch and brought Colin home to a quiet house.  Gavin was at Nana and Papa's house as it was his first day of spring break.  And Elsie was at daycare to keep her in her normal routine.  After we had been home for about an hour, Nana and Papa brought Gavin home to meet Colin.  He was so excited to meet his baby brother!  We let him have a little time alone with the new baby and then Eric picked up Elsie from Generation Next.  When she got home, she completely ignored Colin.  We would ask, "Where is the baby?" and she would look away from him or point to a toy or bring us a book to read.  She was not willing to acknowledge that there was a new little person in the house.

It will take us some time to normalize being a family of 5, but we're confident that Gavin and Elsie will adjust to their new roles and love this new addition so much!  We already do.
