Surprise! 38 Weeks + 4 Days!
I woke up Tuesday, 5/26/20, feeling a little "off." I tried to do an elliptical workout and ended up quitting (twice) because I felt nauseous. As the day progressed I felt a little better physically but still not great emotionally. Eric brought his work upstairs to keep an eye on me and Gavin and to help entertain Gavin while I had meetings. We discussed the option of getting Dairy Queen blizzards after dinner, but I wasn't feeing like it - which is remarkable. I had 2 bowls of Lucky Charms for my bedtime snack instead. Eric tucked me into bed in the guest room (there was a chance of storms overnight and I didn't want to sleep with Mia).
I slept decently that night. I woke up at 3:15 to use the restroom but fell back asleep quickly. Some time later, I woke up to the sensation of liquid running down my legs. As soon as I moved, there was another gush. I recognized this feeling - my water broke! Without even looking at the time, I scooted down the hallway to the master bedroom to wake Eric. He was as surprised and thrilled as I was! It was exactly 5:00 am, so I stood on a bathroom rug to call Nana and ask her to come to our house until Gavin woke up and she could take him to her house. She answered right away and was at our house less than 30 minutes later. Eric and I quickly showered and got dressed and gathered the couple of last-minute items we wanted to bring to the hospital.
Not knowing how the day would go, I wanted to have something in my stomach before we arrived. So we stopped at Casey's for a Naked juice for me and a coffee for Eric. Then it was off to the hospital!
