5 Weeks
I thought we would have a definitive answer by now as to whether or not I am (and will remain) pregnant. But the second hCG test proved inconclusive (the number increased, but not as much as they would like). I will have a third blood test tomorrow morning to hopefully provide clarity around the status of this pregnancy - whether it is progressing normally, progressing slowly and needing to be monitored, or ending.
Assuming the pregnancy will continue as normal, the baby is as big as an appleseed. Only 0.13 inches long! I am still experiencing the same nausea I was feeling last week as well as some abdominal pressure. It was uncomfortable to wear my seatbelt across my lower abdomen on our drives to and from Kenosha. For these reasons, I am optimistice the pregnancy is progressing normally and the hCG was just slow to rise at first.
Hopefully we will have confirmation tomorrow that we can continue taking weekly photos to document the growth of this baby (informally named "Chocolate Chip") like we did with Gavin (Jellybean) and Elsie (Muffin).
