Maternity Photos

This evening we met our family photographer, Michelle Lovell, at Raccoon River Park to shoot our maternity session.  Michelle took maternity photos for us when I was pregnant with Gavin, and she shot his baby photos at 9 days old, six months old, and one year.  

We had originally scheduled photos for Saturday, May 9.  However, hair salons had not been re-opened and both Gavin and Eric were in desperate need of haircuts.  So Eric emailed Michelle to see if we could postpone our photo shoot for one week in hopes of being able to schedule haircuts first.  So we moved the photos to Sunday, May 17.  When Sunday rolled around, it was cool, very windy, and pretty rainy.  So we rescheduled again for Tuesday, May 19.  While it was still overcast, it was warmer and much less windy.  It was actually a good night for photos!

Gavin had a blast picking up little sticks and rocks to throw into the pond.  He did a good job of following directions and smiling when asked.  As we were leaving, Michelle said she would have a preview ready for us within 24-48 hours and our gallery ready within 2-3 weeks.  She had our preview posted on her Facebook page by 10:00 this morning!  We are really pleased with the glimpse that we got and can't wait to see the rest.  

Once Muffin is born, we will contact Michelle to schedule a newborn photo session.  She likes to do those within the first 2 weeks when the babies are especially sleepy and snuggly.  So we'll being seeing her again pretty soon!
