OB Appointment (32 Weeks)
This appointment was rescheduled from last week because Dr. Gable was out of the office for my originally-scheduled appointment time. Today I saw Dr. Mintzer for the first time during this pregnancy. He is the doctor that delivered Elsie!
My blood pressure was good (low as usual), my weight has increased appropriately, and the baby's heart rate was great (130s). I'm measuring right on track.
I had a few questions to ask about having had Covid during pregnancy.
- Is there a need to have an ultrasound to check baby's growth?
- Is there a need to have an ultrasound to check the health of the placenta?
- Some OBs are inducing at 39 weeks if the mother had Covid. Is that a policy we will follow?
- Anything else I need to know about having had Covid during pregnancy?
The Doctor basically said that there is nothing to change as a result of having contracted Covid. He said that as long as I wasn't in repiratory distress, there should be no negative impact to the baby. And everything checked out fine today, so there are no concerns.
My next appointnment is in roughly 2.5 weeks with Dr. Gable, which is who I have seen most frequently through the second and third trimesters. After that appointment with her, I'll start going weekly for my 36-40 week appointments!
