27 Weeks

This week Muffin is the size of a head of lettuce (about 14.5 inches long and around 2 pounds).  He or she is breathing amniotic fluid and showing brain activity.  As the lungs develop, there is also an increase in the likelihood that we will feel baby hiccups!  

This week has been similar to the past 27 weeks.  One night I was feeling uncomfortable and I think I was having heartburn!  But that's the only time I've experienced that sensation.  Several nights this week I have woken up before 5:00 am and not been able to fall back asleep.  But thankfully I've slept longer the past two nights, so hopefully that won't happen consistently for the next 13 weeks.  

No appointments this week.  Just cruising through the last 4 days of school before spring break!
