25 Weeks

This week Chocolate Chip is the size of a head of cauliflower (13.5 inches and 1.5 pounds).  The baby is moving around a lot and growing more hair.  He or she can be startled by loud noises, can get the hiccups, and is working on opening his or her eyelids.  Blood vessels are developing in the baby's lungs and the baby is "breathing" amniotic fluid through the nose.

At 25 weeks pregnant, the uterus has grown to the size of a soccer ball.  And I believe it!  In the past 2 weeks I have gone from barely showing to feeling uncomfortable sitting/lying in certain positions and having to put forth more effort to get up from a sitting/lying position.  Eric has noticed me getting out of breath from seemingly simple activities.  And my boobs are SUPER ITCHY.  But enough about me.

Gavin is about to lose his third tooth (top left) and Elsie lost a toenail (right foot, big toe).  Gavin had an amazing parent-teacher conference and we're feeling very proud of him for his behavior and attitude at school.  Elsie has been super attached to me and not willing to let Eric do his share of snuggling, diaper changing, reading, carrying, or anything else.  Hopefully this is a stage that passes before March!

I have my next appointment this coming week, with Dr. Bedia.  We will discuss the results of the echo ultrasound and I'll do the glucose test.  I passed the one-hour test with room to spare when I was pregnant with both Gavin and Elsie, so I am hopeful for the same result this week.  We shall see!
