25 Weeks

This week Muffin is as big as a cauliflower (13.5 inches long and almost 2 pounds). The baby is gaining a sense of equilibrium and a startle reflex.  He or she is also gaining more fat and hair.   And his or her nostrils are opening up and the baby is able to smell various scents in utero.  

This week I had my 24-week appointment (including the glucose test) and we had an ultrasound.  Our next appointment will be in March and will be a quick check-in at 28 weeks.  After that, appointments will become bi-weekly.

I'm currently packing for a trip to Tampa.  This week I tried on the maternity clothes that Amy lent me because she has far more short-sleeve and spring-like options than I do.  I also ordered a maternity swimsuit to pack for the trip.  Now we'll have to see if weather allows me to wear it!
