14 Weeks

We've made it to the second trimester!  It's crazy to think that we are more than 1/3 of the way through this pregnancy.  I'm 14 weeks today and there's no way I'll go to 42 weeks.  It has gone so quickly, despite starting the early steps of the process in May.  

This week the baby is the size of a peach (3.5 inches long and 1.5 ounces).  For the next several weeks, the baby will double in weight each week!  The baby's kidneys are making urine, he or she is growing lanugo (thin, fuzzy hair that keeps them warm until they have body fat), is wiggling his or her toes, and is using facial muscles to practice smiling.  We saw Chocolate Chip moving all around at our ultrasound earlier this week.
