12 Week Appointment

Today we had our first OB appointment with my regular OB, Dr. Kaufman.  We began with an ultrasound (abdominal this time, yay!) and got some great pictures of Muffin.  He or she gave us a great profile view and was very active the whole time - leg kicks and arm motions a plenty!  I am measuring right on track for a June 6 due date and the fetal heart rate was 166 beats per minute.

After the ultrasound (and mandatory urine sample), we met with Dr. Kaufman.  She answered all of our questions and did a full exam.  This was less fun than the ultrasound.  Eric and I both feel good about our conversation with her and the concern she showed for my pouch and my feelings about my pouch.  We'll monitor my weight gain closely to prevent delivering a 9 pound baby.  I see her next at 16 weeks, which will be the third week of December.  

Now that we've had this appointment, we are ready to share the news.  Gavin will be the first to find out, but we are waiting until Thursday evening to tell him.  I went out with my Bible study friends tonight and we will go to Giggles and Grace at church tomorrow night.  So Thursday is the next night we will spend at home as a family.  We can't wait to see his reaction!
