11 Weeks

At 11 weeks pregnant, the baby is the size of a lime (1.6 inches long and 0.25 ounces).  Right now he or she still has a 1:1 head-to-body ratio. But his or her fingers and toes are no longer webbed.  Tooth buds, hair follicles, and nail beds are forming.

I tried to schedule my first OB appointment around 12 weeks, but their schedule was very full and I couldn't get both an ultrasound and doctor appointment this week.  So we won't see a doctor again until I'm around 13.5 weeks along.

We're planning to tell Gavin and Elsie the news this week.  Gavin and I have dentist appointments Wednesday morning and I don't know how I could update my medical history without him finding out.  So we'll share the news before we go to the dentist.  We're planning to tell extended family during the week.  And I'll share with the staff at Karen Acres on Friday.  We picked up our "Labor Day - March 2022" sign this afternoon and the kids' t-shirts arrived earlier this week.  So I think we're all set.

The whole idea of having another baby is starting to seem a little more real.  After we announce the news and see this little chocolate chip via ultrasound again, I think it will really sink in!
